ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Officials said food insecurity is impacting many in our community, causing them to choose between a meal and other essentials. The McKinney-Vento Warehouse is once again stepping in to help.
On Saturday, dozens of Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) students helped fill up the food warehouse. APS headquarters, located in Uptown Albuquerque, was transformed into a drop-off hub where the community could bring non-perishable food items.

"We're out here from 10 to 4 today and donations get contributed to the McKinney-Vento program, and you guys should come down and will have some free Cane's gift cards for you guys, some free lemonades for you guys. This program actually started last year, and this is our second year of doing it, and it's helped those in need this holiday season," said Hailey Peters, a local student.
If you couldn't donate on Saturday, the warehouse said they are always in need of donations. Click here for more information.
