PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence nightclub has been ordered to shut down after 3 people were stabbed overnight.
The Providence Board of Licenses held an emergency hearing this morning and ordered Club Lovera to shut down for 72 hours.
This stems from an overnight incident where 3 people were stabbed. According to Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez, officers were called to 1266 Broad Street for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival officers learned that 3 people had been stabbed. The victims are described as a 27-year-old male stabbed in the chest, a 28-year-old male with a stab wound to the shoulder, and a 33-year-old male with a stab wound in the forearm.
The 33-year-old male had fled the scene prior to police arrival, however not long after a hospital police detail alerted others that he had walked into Rhode Island Hospital’s emergency room.
Officers cleared out Club Lovera and located the scene.
None of the individuals involved are cooperating with investigators.
