BRILLION, Wis. (WFRV) - As one of the 34 schools participating in the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's Center Stage program, Brillion High School students showed off their musical skills through a beloved holiday classic. "Elf the Musical" was the selection for Brillion High School students, as they performed the musical adaptation of the 2003 Christmas movie, 'Elf.' The musical is similar to the movie, as it follows the story of Buddy the Elf as he leaves the North Pole to go find his real family. The show opened on Thursday night, with the closing show on Saturday afternoon after months of preparation by the crew. "We do our auditions in May and students had the summer to prepare and research before starting rehearsals in August," Kobs said. "It's been a very intense run-up to this production." Kobs described the process as his 'baby.' "It's almost like you're pregnant because you're carrying the show for so long and then it's gone after one weekend," Kobs said. "I call the musical my baby because from inception to inspiration to casting and then seeing it come to fruition." Senior Isaac Schultz, who played Buddy in the show, described the preparation as "a lot of fun."
