PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Funeral services will be held today for Most Reverend Louis Gelineau, who died earlier this week. He was 96 years old. Bishop Gelineau served as the sixth bishop of the Diocese of Providence for more than two decades, before retiring in June of 1997. The Vermont native was first appointed by Pope Saint Paul VI in December 1971.
