(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN-(KFOR Nov. 16)Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) this week announced that South Street between 55th and 56th streets will close beginning Monday, November 18, for Lincoln Electric System pole replacements. This work is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, November 21. Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained. The recommended detour is 48th Street to Normal Boulevard to 56th Street. StarTran Route 40-Heart Hospital will be detoured during this work. Both northbound lanes on North 48th Street between Leighton and Walker avenues will close beginning Monday, November 18, for a construction project at a private business. This work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, November 22. Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained via North 49th Street. The recommended detour is Leighton Avenue to North 56th Street to Adams Street. StarTran Route 48-North 48th will be detoured during this work.
