Man, firefighter hurt in Northeast DC apartment fire

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Crews are at the scene of a fire that broke out at an apartment complex in Northeast D.C. on Friday night.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m., DC Fire and EMS (DCFD) said in a post on X that it was in the 2100 block of Maryland Avenue NE. A fire was in a first-floor apartment unit of a three-story building there.

Driver who fatally hit Woodbridge woman walking her dog arrested, police say
A man was rescued from the apartment and taken to the hospital in "serious condition," a spokesperson for DCFD told DC News Now.
A firefighter also sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
