Café, used bookstore to open soon on Cary Street in Richmond
Nov 15, 2024
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The wait is almost over -- Abi's Books and Brews, a new café and used bookstore located near Virginia Commonwealth University's (VCU) Monroe Park campus in Richmond, will be open before the end of November.
On Saturday, Nov. 23, Abi's Books and Brews will officially open its doors at 1212 1/2 W. Cary Street.
Those who visit can expect to see a variety of beverage options, from the standard iced and hot coffees to lavender lattes. There will also be many flavors of tea to choose from, in addition to treats like croissants and gelato.
Following the business' recent "soft opening," owners announced that they will hold one more test run -- which they called a "grand preview" -- from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.
Owners said they will prepare more Rooibos tea in advance of the grand preview, after learning during the soft opening that this could cut down on wait times for the café's Lavender Lit Latte. Additionally, there will be drip coffee and five new sugar-free Monin syrups.
