EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The latest round of Rhode Island Foundation grants is going to the dogs — literally! R.I. Foundation President and CEO David Cicilline joined 12 News at 4 to talk about the $550,000 being awarded to two dozen animal welfare organizations in the Ocean State, including rescue organizations like the Potter League for Animals, spay-and-neuter clinics, and programs that connect veterans with free or low-cost veterinary care for their pets. Cicilline also shared that the Foundation will be publishing its five-year action plan, which identifies community priorities for the next five years, in early December.
