CHALMETTE, La. (WGNO) — A Chalmette woman has pleaded guilty as an accessory after the fact to a second-degree murder that happened in Marrero back on Nov. 21, 2022.
According to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office, after 24-year-old Larry Junior, of Marrero, shot and killed his longtime friend, Shannon K. Young Jr., Junior's girlfriend, 22-year-old Jenaj Nijay Johnson, drove him away from the scene of the crime, located in the 600 block of Greenwood Drive.
Junior had reportedly been playing dice for money with Young while two other friends played video games. After a losing most of the games and being teased by Young, the two men eventually began to fight.

Young, who weighed nearly 225 pounds, reportedly threw 140 pound junior into a wall and damaged the drywall. Shortly after, Junior pulled a pistol, told Young that they weren't friends anymore and demanded his money back.
Young walked outside to his car after hearing this. Junior followed him with the gun and fired a shot, missing. Young hid behind his car and Junior went inside, but then exited through a side door, climbed on top of a fence and shot Young in the neck once from that position, killing him.
Johnson had been called to pick Junior up much earlier in the argument, and drove Junior away after the murder.
