METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — A Metairie woman has been sentenced to seven years in prison after violating parole she was previously sentenced to following an inappropriate sexual relationship she had with a teen.
According to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office, 41-year-old Crystal Coleman pleaded guilty to indecent behavior with a juvenile back in April.
Coleman reportedly had consensual sexual relations with a 15-year-old in early 2023. Her initial sentence of seven years in prison was suspended by a judge and replaced with 3 years of active probation after Coleman accepted the guilty plea.

As part of the plea, Coleman was not allowed to have contact with the teen, however, in August, she drove to St. Tammany parish to see the teenager and was spotted by the teen's father. Coleman reportedly also communicated with the teen through social media during this time period.
In the recent trial, Coleman's attorney asked that the probation not be revoked, saying that she has a daughter. The judge claimed that she had regretted the probation, saying "She put everything on the line to go ahead and violate the protective order."
In addition to the seven year sentence, Coleman was served a protective order which bars her from contacting the teen until April 2031.
