Sustainably Speaking: Reminders ahead of National Recycling Day
The post says Wisconsin’s recycling law bans certain materials from the trash and supports a statewide recycling program and the state recycles around 400,000 tons of materials annually, including cardboard, office paper, and containers made of steel, aluminum, glass, and plastic. They also mention yard waste and electronics are banned from landfills and successfully diverted for recycling.
The winners helped reduce landfill waste by recycling materials, such as food waste, furniture, and household hazardous waste. Their efforts played a vital role in saving valuable landfill space and promoting sustainability across Wisconsin.
