TYLER, Texas (KETK) -- Country singer Sundance Head, The Voice season 11 champion, has been flown to a Tyler hospital after being shot on Friday, his wife said in a post. "Bullet went in above his navel and lodged into his abdominal wall missing all vital organs. He will not require surgery as they are not removing the bullet," the Facebook post said. "I’m sure she said why but my head is in a fog right now. Him being on the bigger side was a good thing. Bullet is in his fatty tissue. Thanks for all the prayers." In an update, Misty said the singer remains in good spirits and there was no internal damage. Sundance was reportedly at his ranch hunting when the incident occurred. Sundance said it happened so fast and he could see the bullet dislodging," the post said. Sundance allegedly did not call 911, when attempting to reach for his phone after getting hit, the phone was covered in blood and took off down the driveway to the main road to flag someone for help. "10 cars later, someone turned around to help and called 911. Now this is what he has told me, he is heavily medicated at the moment. He’s so lucky and grateful to be alive," Misty said. "Thank you to the good samaritan who stopped and helped and the fast response by life flight and the doctors."
