ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester community leadership gathered Friday to inspire young women. Together, they shared knowledge, challenges faced, and the path taken to get them where they are today. Friday, the Young Women's College Prep, an all-girls charter school in Rochester, presented an event called "Cool Women, Hot Jobs." It brings a panel of female professionals together to talk about pursuing their passions, while also walking the girls through their experiences along the way. The idea, officials said, is to show students a variety of career options and remind them to dream big while working toward their goals. "A lot of them don't know any careers outside of their own homes, so, by bringing in this year - we have over 50 women here with different careers talking to the kids." The school has done this for over 12 years, and with over 200 students in attendance, they hope these conversations will start lasting connections.
