SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Michelin-recommended eatery in North Park is set to close later this month after five years in business.
Medina, a fast-casual Moroccan-Mexican fusion restaurant, announced their intention to shutter its brick-and-mortar location on Instagram Wednesday, while teasing plans to continue sharing some of their specialty dishes in other ways in the future.
The restaurant's owners said their last day serving guests will be on Sunday, Nov. 24. No reason was given for their decision to close the restaurant.

"These last five years have been so memorable, filled with love and support from our amazing community," the restaurant's owners wrote in the post. "Merci, merci, for the support, the wonderful memories, your bright smiles, and positive reviews."
Medina has been in included in the Michelin Guide three times since 2021, a few years after it opened in February 2019. It has also been featured on the guide's lists for the best tacos in Southern California and best Mexican restaurants in San Diego.
The guide described the restaurant as "full of bold, enticing flavors," despite seeming unusual on a surface level — from its Moroccan-spiced chicken tacos lathered in lemon and tzatziki-inspired crema to its couscous bowls with merguez, black beans, queso fresco and toasted pepitas.
Located right on El Cajon Boulevard, the restaurant replaced Cruiser Taco, a taqueria that lived in the storefront from 2017 to 2019.
