Suspect threatened men with axe for alleged tryst with girlfriend

(KRON) – The Fremont Police Department arrested a man who committed assault with a deadly weapon while confronting men about an alleged tryst with his partner last week, according to the department.
On Friday, Nov. 8, a man armed with an axe confronted car repair shop employees at the establishment. Police said the armed suspect accused the employees of sleeping with his girlfriend and then subsequently threatened to kill the employees. The suspect ultimately swung the axe at two employees, prompting an employee to show his firearm, said Fremont PD. The suspect then fled on foot.

There were no injuries sustained in the assault.
Officers later located the suspect emerging from a canal. Fremont PD said the suspect retreated back to the canal after noticing the police, but he was later found after a short foot pursuit.
