CHARLESTON, S.C. (WPRI) — Rhode Island FC are looking to punch their ticket to the USL Championship Finals. After beating No. 1 overall seed Louisville City FC, the club is headed to South Carolina to take on No. 2 seed Charleston Battery at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Eastern Conference Finals. Rhode Island played to draws in both matches against Charleston this season. Rhode Island is the first expansion team to advance to a conference final in its inaugural season since El Paso Locomotive FC did in 2019. The last time a club advanced all the way to the championship match in its first year was Louisville City FC in 2015. The match will be livestreamed nationally on ESPN+ and air locally on The Wolf (106.3 FM) and SiriusXM FC Channel 157. Fans can attend the official watch party at The Guild in Pawtucket.
