UNO to host seminar on New Orleans metro housing challenges

The University of New Orleans Institute for Economic Development & Real Estate Research will host a seminar on the Economics of the New Orleans Metro Housing Crisis.
The seminar will take place from 10 a.m. to noon December 5 in Kirschman Hall, Room 129.
It will focus on the challenges facing the housing market in the New Orleans area with insurance at the forefront, according to a news release.
Following a welcome from Ali Bustamante, director of the Institute and Division of Business and Economic Research, Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple will give remarks on the insurance crisis.
At 11:10 a.m., Bustamante will lead a discussion about the regional housing market with Craig Mirambell, CEO of Mirambell Realty and current president of the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors; Holly Callia, mortgage originator at BankPlus; and Charlie Fontenelle, Area Vice President for Gallagher, formerly Fontenelle & Goodreau Insurance.
Attendees are encouraged to pre-register as seats are limited. General admission is $20. Attendee check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. The seminar has been approved for two continuing education hours by the Louisiana Real Estate Commission and Louisiana Appraisers Board.
