Hannaford’s parent company, Ahold Delhaize USA, first detected a cybersecurity issue in its U.S. network late last week. The company took some of its websites, such as Hannaford’s, offline to address the attacks.“Immediately upon detecting the issue, our security teams began an investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts,” the Dutch company wrote in a press release issued Nov. 8. “We also notified law enforcement.” Hannaford operates 17 stores across Vermont — from Enosburg Falls to Bennington.“Hannaford’s stores are open, well-stocked and serving our customers,” company spokesperson Ericka Dodge Katz wrote in an email. “While we have largely returned to providing the level of support that our customers expect, certain customers may still experience service delays or interruptions.”It was not clear Friday when the issue would be resolved or when the Hannaford site would be back online.Read the story on VTDigger here: Hannaford website offline for a week due to cybersecurity incident.
