IMPD arrests man with active felony warrants at east side business

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department took a man into custody on the east side of Indianapolis Thursday evening who reportedly had several active felony warrants for his arrest.
According to a post on IMPD's social media, detectives with the department's violent crimes unit located 37-year-old Leandre Richardson in the back of a business near the 9800 block of E. 21st Street at around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Detectives, with the assistance of the department's SWAT team, took Richardson into custody. The post read that a loaded firearm was reportedly located after Richardson was in custody.
Officials said Richardson was arrested on the following warrants:
One count of armed robbery and one count of unlawful carrying of a handgun with a prior conviction,
One count of armed robbery, one count of armed kidnapping, one count of battery by by means of a deadly weapon, one count of unlawful carrying of a handgun and one count of pointing a firearm at another.
