OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - The Milwaukee Bucks' G-League affiliate Wisconsin Herd had a complicated summer filled with questions about whether they would continue playing home games there. But, those questions have seemingly been settled after a foreclosure suit regarding over $600,000 of unsettled property and real estate taxes. The Oshkosh Arena is now under new management with VenuWorks, an Iowa-based facility management company. Prior to the Snap: Historic rivalry renewed as Green Bay heads to Chicago for date with Bears Executive Director Andy Linton said that there's excitement in the area as the team returns to the Oshkosh Arena. "Now that VenuWorks is here, we've secured a five-year contract," Linton said. "Everybody is excited and pumped about the team staying here." With those questions out of the way, it's time for the Herd to celebrate their home opener. The excitement is brewing for the fans, and the team and arena are ready for it. "We've had good ticket sales," Linton said. "Everything has been positive." While there will be joy and excitement in the stands for the home opening weekend, the arena will undoubtedly be emotional after the tragic loss of assistant coach Joe Wolf, who unexpectedly passed away in September at 59 years old. Packers injury report: Two out, two questionable against Chicago coming off bye week The Herd will honor the late Joe Wolf before and during the game, recognizing his family during the second quarter of the game, and throughout the season, a seat will be left open on the bench in his honor. Players will also wear black ribbons on their jerseys with Wolf's signature. The Herd tip off their weekend-long home opening festivities on Friday at 7 p.m. against the Grand Rapids Gold and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. against the Gold as well.
