FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) ---A Carmel-based developer that specializes in healthcare real estate is proposing an assisted living facility and independent senior housing complex on the city’s southwest side.
The Leo Brown Group has designated 36 acres between the 3500 and the 3800 block of Dicke Road for development, according to plans submitted to the Fort Wayne Plan Commission.
The company is seeking to rezone the acreage from agricultural to RP or planned residential use.
RP zoning is intended to create areas for mixed residential uses, according to Fort Wayne code.
WANE 15 attempted to reach the group’s principals, but were not able. On the company website, there are claims of developing $1 billion in health real estate properties, 3,000 units of senior housing and healthcare and four million square feet of real estate. The company builds nationwide.
The area to be developed is largely rural and agricultural.
A public hearing on the project is scheduled for Dec. 9.
