EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- El Paso County says its Public Works Department is working to repair a "significant sinkhole" and roadway damage in far East El Paso.

The County says it is working to enable two-way traffic on the southbound lanes from Crest Avenue north to Pleasant Crest.
Repairs are expected to take several weeks, the County said. Residents in the affected area continue to have water service, and there have been no reportedcomplications to electrical or gas utilities, the County said. The water main break and waterline is part of the Paseo De Este Municipal Utility District, the County said.
This system does not belong to El Paso County, the County said.
The County says it is involved because of roadway issues but does not have any involvement or authority over the waterline.
