BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 13-year-old boy facing murder and vandalism charges appeared in juvenile court on Friday, where defense counsel said more time is needed to download and review files received from the District Attorney's Office. Judge Marcus Cuper set a status conference in early December for Dylan Fermin Flores, who remains in custody. He noted the defense had a "large amount of discovery" to review. A prosecutor said there were at least 1,400 pieces of evidence. Flores and Lance Burnett, 18, are accused in the shooting death of a man Oct. 27 in the area of South Washington Street and East Belle Terrace. The victim's name has not been released. Burnett was arraigned earlier this month and is due back in court in late January. He's being held without bail at Lerdo Jail.
