BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Kern County and Bakersfield firefighters have planned a live fire training exercise for Sunday and Monday in east Bakersfield. In collaboration with private landowners, firefighters will use the live burn training to learn advanced techniques in a controlled environment. The burn will take place on Nov. 17 - 18, at the southwest corner of the intersection of Highway 178 and Valley Street, according to KCFD Public Information Officer, Jon Drucker. The exercise is subject to change based on weather conditions and emergency activity levels across Kern.
