Man arrested in connection to 1yearold who died in vehicle in September

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- One man was arrested in connection to the death of a 1-year-old who was found unresponsive in a vehicle on Sept. 28.
Sheriff officials told 17 News Lorenzo Johnson, 39, was arrested on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter and wilful cruelty to a child in connection to this case.
Officials say, Dream Shorter, 1-year and 8-months, was found in a vehicle in the 3400 block of Squire Lane on Sept. 28 around 4:22 p.m.

The cause of his death was determined to be hyperthermia due to environmental exposure and the manner was an accident, according to coroner officials.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating this case.
The temperature on Sept. 28 was reported at 96 degrees.
Johnson was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person.
