ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 19-year-old Elmira man and an inmate in the Monroe County Jail were charged with murder after a deadly shooting in 2022 that killed a Rochester City School District student.
Around 2 a.m. on September 11, 2022, officers found a 16-year-old boy shot in the face and 17-year-old Cahj'miere Robinson with multiple gunshot wounds on Webster Ave. The 16-year-old recovered from his injuries, but Cahj'miere was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators learned the two victims were lured to the area to be robbed before they were shot.
On Thursday, 19-year-old Jaiden Robinson was arrested in Elmira and accused of the shooting. Officers said Jaiden lived in Rochester, but moved to Elmira shortly after the shooting. He allegedly had a loaded handgun at the time of his arrest.
RPD also charged 22-year-old Michael Scott in the shooting. Scott has been in the Monroe County Jail since November 2023 charged with killing Demetrius Rucker in August 2023.
Jaiden and Scott were charged with second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Robinson will face additional weapon charges for having a handgun at the time of his arrest.
Jaiden was arraigned in court and Scott was arraigned Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. More charges may be considered by a grand jury.
