(KRON) -- A man who suffered critical injuries in a shooting Thursday afternoon in Oakland was transported to a hospital and pronounced deceased hours later, according to the Oakland Police Department. Oakland police responded at 4:15 p.m. to the 1300 block of Madison Street on the report of a person lying in the street. Arriving officers located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound or wounds, and responding paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital. SFPD makes arrest in October Union Square smash-and-grab burglary The man was pronounced deceased just before 9:30 p.m., OPD said in an update. The identity of the shooting victim is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin. Police did not announce any arrests or suspects identified in the shooting.
