Cloudy and cooler Friday ahead of a pleasant weekend
Nov 15, 2024
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Friday! We have lingering clouds around for your Friday that will keep our temperatures in the low-to-mid 50s. We can’t rule out a light mist of drizzle early in the day, especially in eastern Kentucky. Today will be a few degrees cooler area wide than Thursday.
Saturday will start off chilly with cloud cover around. The good news is that we will start to clear those clouds out by the afternoon. Once skies clear out, temperatures will struggle to get out of the upper 50s near 60. Morning lows on Sunday will be chilly with most areas in the low 40s and a few upper 30s. Sunday afternoon looks fantastic after the cooler start to the day. Afternoon highs to close out the weekend will range from the low-to-mid 60s.
Next week will start off unseasonably mild. Afternoon highs on Monday will peak right around the mid-to-upper 60s with an increase in cloud cover throughout the day. Rain chances return on Tuesday, though temperatures will stay mild.
Wednesday into Thursday of next week is where the big changes to the pattern start to arrive. A strong area of low pressure will be spreading across the Ohio Valley. This will bring us gusty winds and, yes, the potential for some flakes mixing in. There is still some discrepancy on how much colder air will work its way in, but the chance of seeing at least a few flakes continues to increase.
