AM Headlines: Morning Fog Sunny Afternoon Weekend Warm-Up Rain Returns Midweek Tropical Storm Sara Discussion: The rain was beneficial yesterday with just under an inch falling across the Charlotte metro region. Will that be enough to end the drought? No. But, every little bit certainly helps, especially since we’ll stay dry through the start of the next week. Clouds and fog will lift this morning leading to more sunshine and warmer temperatures today. Highs will top out in the mid 60s this afternoon as high pressure builds in. This will set us up for a beautiful forecast this weekend with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 60s Saturday and Sunday. It will be even warmer next week with highs reaching the low 70s Monday and Tuesday. A cold front will bring in more rain chances midweek with temperatures plummeting by the end of the week. Tropics Update: Tropical Storm Sara will approach the coast of Honduras today. This storm will bring flooding rain to parts of Central America with 10-20 inches possible leading to flash flooding and mudslides. Model trends are pushing the storm further inland which will help to tear up the storm, keeping it from tracking back into the Gulf. Still something to monitor through the weekend.
