CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A walk will take place Saturday in Hampton Park to raise funds to help reduce intoxicated driving.
“Walk Like MADD” is a signature fundraising event from Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or MADD, to raise awareness and funds to eliminate drunk and drugged driving.
According to the event’s website, $28,661 has been raised against the $30,000 goal.
“We hope that you will rally with us in Charleston to help create a future of ‘No More Victims,’ said event organizers. “Register and donate today to help us save more lives!”
Registration for the walk opens at 8:30 a.m., and the opening ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. Those interested in participating can visit www.walklikemadd.org/lowcountry.
