North Charleston police to hand out turkeys, serve up hot Thanksgiving meals

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The North Charleston Police Department is preparing to give away more than 200 turkeys to families in need.
It’s part of the department’s annual “A Day of Thanksgiving,” which will take place next Friday at the Charleston Area Convention Center (5001 Coliseum Drive) near the North Charleston Coliseum parking garage.
Police say 250 turkeys will be handed out along with a bag of fixings.

Additionally, police will prepare hot meals with mac and cheese, green beans, yellow rice, yams, and fried turkey.
The giveaway happens Friday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
