BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Chelsea Furr and Taylor Banker of Dante's Hope introduced two beautiful dogs up for adoption named Layla and Daisy Mae. Daisy Mae is a 3-year-old black Labrador who has been with Dante's Hope for over a year. All of her puppies have been adopted and she is still waiting for her turn to find a new loving home. Layla is about a year old. She would fit in with a family with older children, ages 6 and up because younger kids tend to make her nervous. These two beautiful dogs are super sweet and loving. They love other dogs and people and would be the perfect addition to any family. Both of their adoption fees are $100. Furr said black dogs have a harder time getting adopted. Maybe it's for superstitious reasons or because their fur is not as light or colorful as other dogs. Whatever the case is, she emphasizes that they are just as beautiful and deserve a loving home as any other dog. While potential adopters need to have the right food, bedding and water for their new dog, they also need to keep their dogs groomed. Keeping a dog's fur cut and nails trimmed is just as important for their overall health and well-being. Want to adopt a new pet?
