Rhode Island College to welcome new president, apply for free day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Senator Jack Reed will join Governor Dan McKee at Rhode Island College today to celebrate the installation of the school’s new president.
Dr. Jack Warner was named the 11th president of the college after serving as interim president since July of 2022.
The inauguration of Warner will be at 1 p.m., followed by a 5:30 p.m.
Rhode Island College will also be making their application process a little easier today.
The college is waiving their $50 dollar application fee for all Rhode Island students.
This is the college’s third annual apply to RIC for free day.
Applications for both the fall and spring 2025 semesters will be eligible for the fee waiver, and applies to students interested in both undergrad and grad programs.
Students who take advantage of this opportunity will receive a decision within two weeks.
