(WGHP) — We did it! After record rainfall Thursday (1.52") and temperatures in the mid-40s, Friday is here and the weather is looking great for the weekend ahead! The rain from yesterday is working its way offshore this morning, and though we have some persistent clouds, there is sunshine ahead for the late afternoon. It's breezy, so a windbreaker or warm jacket is a great idea, especially as you start the day. Highs today will return to near-normal, around 63°. Has the Piedmont Triad ever gotten snow on Thanksgiving? Looking back at weather over the years Skies will be clear tonight, allowing lows to slip into the lower 40s. The weather is going to stay dry through Tuesday of next week and temperatures are warming up! Enjoy sunny skies Saturday with highs in the mid-60s, then partly cloudy skies Sunday as highs climb to the upper 60s.   By Monday and Tuesday, we will be unseasonably warm with highs in the lower 70s! This warm-up is courtesy of a cold front that will be headed into NC late Wednesday and the mild, southwest winds preceding it. Rain chances will climb on Wednesday to 65% and highs will stay in the upper 60s. Behind the cold front, we'll have mostly sunny skies Thursday with highs in the upper 50s.
