AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Two cold fronts in the 7-day forecast - one likely to bring an increase in rain chances, the other featuring a big drop in temperatures. FRIENDSGIVING CHALLENGE: DONATE TO THE CENTRAL TEXAS FOOD BANK Morning temperatures in the 30s and 40s will warm to the mid- to upper 70s by this afternoon. Sunshine, dry skies, light winds and seasonable temperatures will be favorable for all Friday plans. We're watching our best chance for rain arriving late in the day on Sunday through the first half of the day on Monday. Only spotty showers appear in the cards for the daylight hours of Sunday, but Sunday night through Monday morning is trending wetter with roughly 60% of the area getting some measurable rain. At this point the severe weather risk is on the low end, but the potential rainfall amounts have trended slightly higher. Areas that see rain should end up with a quarter inch to 1" by the time we dry out Monday afternoon. A cold front pushing through on Monday will knock temperatures down a little bit for Tuesday before a reinforcing shot of colder air helps to usher in the coldest air of the season for next Wednesday and Thursday. We could see our first frosts and freezes for the Hill Country next Thursday morning!
