(KRON) -- Bluesky, which in the days since the U.S. election has emerged as an alternative to X, formerly Twitter, was reportedly experiencing an outage Thursday afternoon. According to the Downdetector website, user reports of problems with the social media micro-blogging platform spiked several times throughout the day. The outage comes just as Bluesky is experiencing a surge in new users. On Wednesday, the app announced that it had surpassed 15 million users. That same day, it was the No. 1 app in the iOS app store. It's unclear how widespread the outage is or was. In the KRON4 Newsroom, the app and web versions of the platform still appeared to be up and running.
