Albuquerque man sentenced for shooting and killing girlfriend

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who shot and killed his girlfriend last year after thinking she cheated learned his fate on Thursday. Police said Carlos Gonzales and his girlfriend Areli Rodriguez got into an argument at their apartment near Louisiana and Ross.
Appeals court upholds Fabian Gonzales’ conviction
During the argument, police said Gonzales shot and killed Rodriguez. Earlier this year, Gonzales pled no contest to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Thursday, a judge sentenced Gonzales to another seven months in prison and gave him credit for the year and a half he's already been in jail for.
