SC Freedom Caucus outlines agenda despite inparty opposition

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Election Night saw big gains for South Carolina Republicans in the statehouse.
However, not all Republicans in the statehouse are on the same page.
One of those groups, the South Carolina Freedom Caucus, laid out the legislative plans Thursday afternoon. The caucus consists of roughly 20 house members who do not agree 100 percent with fellow Republicans.
Representative Jordan Pace says one of the policies supported by the South Carolina Freedom Caucus is school choice.
Another piece of legislation caucus members hope is brought up in the next session is an abortion ban from the moment of conception.
In addition to policies, Pace was asked about whether Representative RJ May was still a part of the caucus despite being under investigation. Pace refused to elaborate when pressed.
One thing is for certain, the Freedom Caucus has opposition. It ranges from Democrats such as Jermaine Johnson to fellow Republicans, including house speaker Murrell Smith.
