ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — More than 30 local businesses from a variety of industries came together at the Rochester Memorial Art Gallery for the Professional Recruiters of Rochester's fall job fair Thursday morning. "We want to keep jobs local in Rochester," said Caitlin Raynor, recruiter and co-chair of Pro-ROC. "So, if we can plan an event that's accessible for the greater Rochester community and get employers involved - that's why we love hosting this and plan to continue every year in the fall." Employers from human services, education, hospitality and customer service were among the attendees. Folks were given the opportunity to look at a variety of open positions starting from entry level all the way to skilled roles and jobs in management. It also allowed people to have professional headshots taken. AARP teaches you how to conduct a ‘walk audit’ "Last year, we had just over 100 people after three hours. So, I think the outreach in the community is really there. We have a wide variety of employers that are here which helps as well. And most of them are from the Monroe County area, so, I think that's been the big drive," explained Jackie Andersen, recruiter and co-chair of Pro-ROC. Participants could also receive feedback from experts, and resume reviews. It was free to attend, with over 300 open job positions available to view.
