Fresno's Monopoly board revealed: Where is your neighborhood?
Nov 14, 2024
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Pick your pieces and get ready to roll your dice down Fulton Street, Fresno's official Monopoly board is here leaving many to wonder "How close am I to the expensive properties?"
The board has the typical colored locations associated with Monopoly: red, green, yellow, light blue, brown, green and navy blue. But the Fresno board also takes the time to shout out iconic and memorable locations in town.
Players will find that identifying landmarks on the board is a walk in the park from the start: Fresno's Roeding Park and Woodward Park are the first locations on the board as the board's two brown color properties at ₩60 each.
If players are lucky enough to avoid the ₩200 fine to the Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU), they will encounter the first of the four "railroad" locations. The Fresno Hop trolley bus can be purchased for ₩200 (on this board, the "railroads" are all transport-related).
On the other side, the light blue properties the player can buy are the Forestiere Underground Gardens or the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County for ₩100 each. The Fresno Art Museum is your last stop priced at ₩120 - before you run the risk of going to jail.
The price for the next few locations may hurt players' pockets a bit, but they're some of Fresno's most popular photo backdrops: the Saroyan Theatre is the first of the pink properties priced at ₩140. The Blossom Trail takes the place of the "Electric Company" at ₩150, and next to that are Warnors Theatre at ₩140 and Tower Theatre at ₩160.
Economy Movers is the next "railroad" location at ₩200. The orange properties are The Iron Office and Jeffery Scott Agency at ₩180 - and Bonadelle Homes at ₩200.
Going to the red properties is Downtown Fresno's own Tioga Sequoia Brewing for ₩220, the next stop along the board. Castillo's Mexican Food is also ₩220 and Tuesday River Park Farmers Market (priced at ₩240) brings much-needed flavor to the board before Downtown Fresno's Mathew's Harley-Davidson as the next "railroad" at ₩200.
Fulton Street (₩260) and Fresno's Public Library (₩260) make their mark on the board as the next yellow properties.
Fresno County locations were even included with the San Joaquin River aptly taking the place of the "Water Works" at ₩150. The final yellow property is Table Mountain Casino Resort priced at ₩280.
If players can avoid going to jail on the next square, they can visit Downtown Fresno one more time as they pass by the green properties of City Hall and the Old Fresno Water Tower (₩300 each). Downtown Fresno itself is the final green property priced at ₩320.
The Santa Fe Passenger Depot Fresno Station is the final "railroad" location priced at ₩200.
The final pair of properties, in their expensive navy blue color, are Fresno State priced at ₩350 and - on the other side of a ₩100 fine to be paid to the Educational Employees Credit Union - players finish off their tour of California's biggest little city at Fresno Chaffee Zoo worth ₩400 in Monopoly money.
