Funeral service held for retired New Mexico National Guard brigadier general

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Funeral services were held on Thursday for retired New Mexico National Guard Brigadier General George Treadwell. Cannons and rifles rang out near the Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Wyoming Blvd. to honor Brigadier General Treadwell.

According to his obituary, he joined the Wisconsin National Guard in 1948 before transferring to New Mexico in 1953. He retired after 40 years of service. He also worked for Sandia National Labs for 40 years. Brigadier General Treadwell was 95 years old.
