FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman faces several charges after a lengthy pursuit across Fluvanna and Albemarle counties, during which authorities say she hit another car. According to the Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office (FCSO), on Tuesday, Nov. 12, officers with the Lake Monticello Police Department (LMPD) saw Linda Jean Eckert trespassing at Lake Monticello and near the home of someone who had a protective order against her. Eckert, who has previously been investigated for violating a protective order, was also wanted for a previous trespassing incident at Lake Monticello. LMPD attempted to stop Eckert, but she fled the area, according to authorities. Officers then alerted FCSO of the situation and said Eckert was driving recklessly. Families of two men lost in deadly New Kent crash left utterly devastated At about 2:10 p.m., the Fluvanna Emergency Communications Center sent out a broadcast letting deputies in the area -- as well as officers with the Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD) -- know of the pursuit, as it was believed that Eckert was moving towards Albemarle County. Just after crossing over the Albemarle County line, Eckert reportedly crashed into another car on Union Mills Road. According to authorities, she did not stop, fleeing the scene of the crash. Officers with the ACPD attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but authorities said Eckert refused to stop. Those officers then pursued her on Seminole Trail. "The vehicle ultimately came to a stop at approximately 2:29 p.m.," the ACPD said, adding that Eckert was taken into custody within the next hour. Police searching for attempted break-in suspect caught on camera in Henrico Eckert faces a total of seven charges, with some out of Fluvanna and others out of Albemarle. Those charges include: Violation of a protective order Trespassing Disregarding a law enforcement signal to stop Reckless driving Obstruction of justice Felony eluding Felony hit and run 8News reached out to the ACPD to learn if anyone was injured as a result of the hit-and-run crash and will provide an update when possible.
