Kenner police sergeant dies in line of duty

KENNER, La. (WGNO) — Officers with the Kenner Police Department have announced the death of one of its sergeants on Thursday, Nov. 14.
The KPD reported that Sergeant Peter Foltz died in the line of duty due to a "medical incident."

According to police, Foltz was with the KPD for 20 years.

"We ask that you keep his family, friends, fellow officers and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the Gretna Police Department, NOPD, and New Orleans EMS for their courageous efforts and support. Rest in peace, Sgt. Foltz. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten," KPD officials said in a social media post.
