Tangipahoa Parish searching for bank fraud suspect

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a man suspected of committing bank fraud.
Deputies report that in April, 34-year-old Jerome Robinson allegedly went to multiple branches of The First Bank depositing and cashing out what deputies say were fake checks from the U.S. Treasury written to his name.

An investigation revealed the first check was successfully cashed for $9,334.74 at the Highway 190 location. The second incident included an attempted deposit and withdrawal of two $7,000 checks.
A third attempt reportedly happened at the Ponchatoula location with an attempt to deposit a $14,000 check.
