Little League park hopes to rebuild after bathroom vandalism

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- A local Little League park wants to put an end to vandalism for good but needs community support in finding the funds.
Elmhurst Little League posted a GoFundMe on their Facebook page, after a group of who they now know were teenage boys, vandalized the park's bathroom. According to the GoFundMe page, the bathroom sinks were torn from the wall and broken into pieces. The vandals also broke into the concession stand, but the amount of damage done is unknown.
This is not the first time that this has happened, not only at this park but at multiple parks around the city.

Earlier this year, Volunteers had to come together to rebuild Huntertown Lions Club, after the bathroom doors were lit on fire. WANE 15 was also told by a Packard Park employee earlier this year that the park often faces litter and vandalism, especially around their baseball diamonds.
Elmhurst Little League hopes to continue improvements of their parks, that's served the Waynedale Community since 1954, but with the setbacks need community help. Currently, the GoFundMe has a goal of $5,000 to not only work to fix the damage done but also add security to put an end to future instances of vandalism and theft.
