NDDOT's Sober Ride program provided 64 rides to North Dakotans on Halloween

NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — ND Sober Ride, a program whose goal is to remove impaired drivers from North Dakota roads, provided 64 sober rides on Halloween weekend.
They provided these rides even though issues within the Lyft app prevented the code from being downloaded at the beginning of the weekend.
“While it was unfortunate the codes did not work initially, the team at Lyft worked swiftly to resolve the issue, which allowed for North Dakotans to choose ND Sober Ride as the sober way home," said Lauren Wahlman, NDDOT Safety Public Information Program Manager. "We look forward to partnering with Lyft in the future to help bring the number of fatalities and serious injuries on North Dakota roadways to zero.”

ND Sober Ride will be available during Thanksgiving weekend.
This campaign is part of the Vision Zero strategy, which aims to eliminate motor vehicle crash fatalities and serious injuries on North Dakota roads.
