BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Two people accused of throwing chairs at a man's apartment, breaking down his door and reportedly beating him with a gun after punching and kicking him were arrested.
Damien Catherine was arrested and charged with aggravated second-degree battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and simple criminal damage to property. Kayla Georgetown was arrested and charged with second-degree battery and simple criminal damage to property.
Around 9:53 p.m. on Aug. 23, 4th District officers responded to the 3700 block of East Brookstown Drive regarding an assault. According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, officers learned that a male victim had a laceration to his head, which required stitches.

The male victim told officers that subjects who lived in the apartment complex "came to his apartment with intentions to fight his brother and sister," according to BRPD. The victim said that Catherine and Georgetown threw chairs at his apartment's windows and proceeded to kick in his door.
Catherine and Georgetown started punching and kicking him all over his body when they were inside the apartment. According to BRPD, Catherine was reportedly armed with a gun and "began beating the victim in the face and head with the gun."
