How smart is Louisiana? Study ranks intelligence of US states

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A new study revealed that Louisiana is among the Top 10 least intelligent states in the United States.
Excel Champs spreadsheet and data analysis experts used data from Visual Capitalist to find out which states have Intelligence Quotient (IQ) levels above or below the national average of 99.25.
Louisiana was named the second-least intelligent state with an IQ of 95.3, which is 3.95 points below the national average, according to the study. Mississippi was named the least intelligent state with an IQ of 94.2, which is 5.05 points below the national average.
According to the study, Massachusetts was named the smartest state with a 104.3 IQ, which surpasses the national average by 5.05 points.

"There is only a difference of 10.1 IQ points between Massachusetts and Mississippi, which is not as drastic of a discrepancy as expected across 50 states," said Puneet Georgia, excel and data analytics expert at Excel Champs.
