BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Target on Ming Avenue is closed Thursday after a fire was set in the Christmas section Wednesday night. The fire was reported around 7:21 p.m. when a fire was "intentionally set," according to the Bakersfield Police Department. Fire officials are searching for the woman suspected of starting the fire. The person is described as an adult female who was last seen wearing a pink hoodie, black pants and white shoes. Officials say she was also carrying a multicolored backpack and wearing a blue backpack. Officials say she left the area on a silver and purple mountain bike. Fire officials told 17 News the fire was controlled by sprinklers and officers with fire extinguishers. Water and smoke damage were reported as a result of the fire, according to fire officials. There were no injuries reported and the cost of damage has not been assessed. The store posted a note on the closure saying it is has not been determined when the store will be reopened.
