BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Coroner's Office identified a teenager killed after a crash in the canal on Cottonwood Road in September. Coroner officials identified Ulicer Alesander Perez Jimenes, 16, of Lamont as the driver of a vehicle that left the roadway and crashed into the canal on Sept. 29 in the area of Cottonwood Road and Panama Lane. The cause of his death was determined to be drowning and the manner an accident, according to the coroner's office. The California Highway Patrol said for unknown reasons the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into the canal. Two passengers of the Toyota were able to exit the submerged vehicle.
